    Founder of content design studio, Character

    Jane Ruffino is a UX content consultant who has worked across industries in Europe and North America. She has created courses for Berghs School of Communication, the UX Design Institute, and organizations looking to tap into their content potential. In addition to her work as a content designer, she’s also pursuing a PhD in contemporary archaeology.

    Rosa Vieira de Almeida is a content designer and researcher focused on creating and improving systems of care. She’s a former academic who enjoys thinking about and working on issues related to language, migration, and deathcare. She lives in Rotterdam and Lisbon.

    Senior content designer, University of Edinburgh

    Lauren Tormey is a senior content designer at the University of Edinburgh focused on improving the digital provision for prospective students. In her eight years in higher education, she has used her editorial, CMS, and UX skills to ensure more effective, human-centered content. She is also a runner and an advocate for a more humane immigration system in the UK.

    Theo Karatzas is a content designer and freelance researcher. She holds a master’s degree in media studies from the New School and has done research on digital memorialization, social media, and media archaeology. She lives with her husband in San Francisco and enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, and rock climbing. In a previous life, she worked in the music industry.

    CEO, Active Voice

    Sara is a coach, author, and speaker dedicated to changing design and tech for good. She’s the CEO of Active Voice, a training and coaching company that helps content and UX professionals become bold leaders and build better workplaces. She is also a longtime UX content consultant and the author of three books: Technically Wrong, Design for Real Life (with Eric Meyer), and Content Everywhere.
